Profile

Professor Gillian Rhodes is a Winthrop Professor in the School of Psychology at the University of Western Australia, where she holds an Australian Research Council Distinguished Outstanding Researcher Award.  She leads the Person Perception Program of the ARC Centre of Excellence in Cognition and its Disorders.  Professor Rhodes specialises in perception, with a focus on the mechanisms (perceptual, cognitive, neural and evolutionary) underlying our expertise in face perception, how these can vary between individuals, how they develop during childhood and how they may be impaired in disorders such as autism.
