Profile

Louise Edwards, President of the Asian Studies Association of Australia (2015-2017) is Professor of Chinese History and Convenor of Asian Studies in the School of Humanities and Languages at UNSW Australia.  She was formerly Coordinator of Modern China Studies at the University of Hong Kong, Director of the China Research Centre at UTS and Convenor of the ARC Asia Pacific Futures Research Network. She specialises in history, politics, and gender in China. She is currently working on gendered cultures of war in China during the twentieth century.
