Professor Peter Cane (FASSA, FBA, FAAL) is Associate Dean (Research) at the ANU College of Law.  From 1978-1997 he taught at Corpus Christi College, Oxford successively as Lecturer, Reader and Professor.  His main research interests are in the law of obligations (especially tort law), public law (especially administrative law) and legal theory (especially concepts of responsibility).  In 2002 he was a member of a Panel of Eminent Persons appointed by all Australian governments to conduct a Review of the Law of Negligence. He is a Corresponding Fellow of the British Academy and a Fellow of the Australian Academy of Law. In 2011 he was the British Academy Maccabaean Lecturer in Jurisprudence.
