Profile

Professor Pat Jalland is an Emeritus Professor of History in the History School at the Research School of Social Sciences, the Australian National University.  Professor Jalland continues her research in the history of death, grief and old age, in the broader context of Australian and British social, cultural and medical history, and women's and family history.  She has completed her tenth book, a social history of old age in Australia from 1880 to 1980, published by Melbourne University Publishing in 2015.
