International program

The Academy of the Social Sciences in Australia (ASSA), through its international activities and agreements, promotes scholarly cooperation, facilitates intellectual and scholarly exchanges by Australian social scientists with academic counterparts overseas, and acts as an Australian national member of international organisations concerned with the social sciences.

The International Program connects social scientists across Australia with unique opportunities and collaborations available from the academy’s institutional partners overseas. International Program grants provide funding for Fellows and other researchers from Australia to travel overseas, working in partnership with experts in our partner institutes. Grant selections also have a special focus on selecting early career researchers. Recently, grants have been available with the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, the French Embassy in Australia, the Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences and with more than a dozen countries through the Australian Government’s International Science Linkage Partnerships.

The call for proposals for the Australia-China (CASS) Joint Action Program in 2016 is open.

If you are a Fellow and would like to recommend a new international partnership for the Academy of the Social Sciences in Australia, the Secretariat welcomes your feedback.
