Beaumont, Joan Errington. BA (hons) (Adelaide), PhD (London)

Professor Joan Beaumont is Director of the Faculty of Arts, ANU College of Arts and Social Sciences, Australian National University and former Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Alfred Deakin Professor, Deakin University. Her interests are in the history of the first and second world wars, especially Australia's experience of war; prisoners of war; diplomatic history; international humanitarian law; and history and memory. She is currently working on the second world war and Australian memory, ritual and commemoration.
