The Australian National Commission for UNESCO provides annual grant
fund assistance for a range of projects which will further UNESCO
priorities and objectives. The commission invites applications for
funding between $2,000 and $30,000 for Australian projects. The
National Commission decides which projects are to be funded and
the level of funds approved for each project.
ASSA through its membership of the UNESCO Social Sciences Network,
has been successful in past years, in applying on behalf of Fellows
for funding for research projects/workshops. Applications for the
2007-08 funding round have now closed.

The Academy assisted in obtaining grant funding from The Australian
National Commission for UNESCO Grant Scheme 2006/7 for the workshop
Migration Challenges in the Asia-Pacific Region in the 21st Century
which was hosted by Professor Amarjit Kaur, Professor of Economic
History, University of New England on 28-29 November 2006.
